11.1.4 pg. 543-544 (#52, 53a&b, 56, 57)

For #52, do not yet attempt to find the surface area of the cone in part (b), because we have not yet learned that. You should be able to do it for the triangular prism in (a) though.

EDIT: By Friday (April 11th), attempt to do part (b) of #52 by finding the surface area of that cone. You may turn in the assignment then.

We used CW#7 - Glasses MARS Task to introduce finding the volume of a cone, so some of the information in there (including the answer keys) should help you all tremendously. Otherwise, see 9.1.3 - Volumes & Surface Areas of Prisms for further assistance on the material regarding volume of prisms in general, and see 11.1.2 - Pyramids to get a better understanding on how cones and pyramids share the same concept of volume.
